And Finally, this will be the last edition of the of the Wicked Weekly Updated. I’ve enjoyed putting together this newsletter over the past couple months. Beth O’Grady will be the new Newsletter Editor for Wicked. She has some really great ideas for our brand new Wicked Running Register Newsletter. Here is the email that she sent out a few days ago:
Hello All,
As of January 2010, there’s a new newsletter editor in town.
The Wicked Running Register will be a monthly collaborative publication by and for club members. You’ll still get weekly race results & updates from the Club, but our newsletter will be a monthly collection of contributions of any type from photos to PR kudos to random silly stuff. Please see the January contribution form attached. You can send an email with comments on any of the sections to newsletter@wickedrunningclub.com.
If you are unable to open a PDF, drop me a note and I’ll send it to you as a word doc. January’s contribution deadline is December 28. Don’t make me look lame on my debut publication… send some stuff along!
A few Wicked Runners took advantage of the season’s first major snow storm to get a practice run in before the 1st Olde Salem Greens Snowshoe Classic coming up on January 9th. Check out the hardy bunch in the pictures below who ran through Lynn Woods yesterday. If you are interested in racing the Snowshoe Classic in a few weeks click here to download the application or head over to active.com to sign up online.
Anyone that is interested in donating toys or gift cards can now drop them off at New England Running Co. in Beverly!
This year, in conjunction with the Greater Salem Boys & Girls Club & New England Running Company, Wicked Running Club is sponsoring a toy drive for its members. Here are the details for donating new toys to underprivileged children, of all ages, this holiday season:
The toy drive has started and will end on December 20th. Toys should be new and unwrapped. Gift cards would be great for the older kids. The Board recommends donating toys in the amount of $10 and greater.
Wicked will be donating the toys/gift cards to the Greater Salem Boys & Girls Club. Toys can be dropped off at Tues/Thurs runs with Alison Phelan or Saturday morning with Tim Short, or any other Board member present for the Saturday run. Gift cards to places like Target and Wal-Mart are great for older kids and young teens as people normally think of a toy drive for just young kids. Continue reading ‘Holiday Toy Drive’
Only two weeks remain until the 3rd Annual Wicked Frosty Four takes place! If you haven’t signed up yet you can do so at active.com until December 30th.
Don’t forget that December 20th is last day for the 1st Wicked Holiday Toy Drive. New unwrapped toys or gift cards can be dropped off to Tim Short on Saturday December 19th at the Saturday Morning Run at Forest River Park in Salem or on December 20th at New England Running Company in Beverly. All toys and gift cards will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem. Thank you to everyone who has already donated a toy or gift card to this wonderful event! For more information contact Tim Short at tim.short1@gmail.com
