Wicked Running Club

It was a great day for the Wicked Running Club at the Olde Salem Greens 5K. WRC had 70 members in the race and walked away with several age group awards. A record 380 runners took part in today’s race. Olde Salem Greens 5K celebrated it’s 8th anniversary this year and while it’s considered one of the most difficult races around, it’s also one of the best organized races that runners can participate in. This is due to the great effort of Race Director Doug Bollen (also a Wicked Running Club member) and those  who assist him on race day. Wicked had a great group of volunteers helping Doug out this morning which made those crazy hills just a little easier to take on especially when you saw Peter Raymond and others cheering you on.

Race Results Update

While some Wicked Runners stayed closer to home over the past weekend to compete in the Claddagh Pub 4 Miler in Lawrence MA, a group of Wicked Princesses took a flight down to Florida to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Disney Princess Half Marathon. Great job everyone!

There will be more results coming up next week as Wicked Runners take to the streets coming up this weekend in the  AOH 5K in Peabody and North Shore 30k in Hamilton. Those Wicked members who are interested in running the 30k should get in touch with Harry Pratt who is offering free entry to members of the Wicked Running Club!

Boston Marathon…in two bites!

Members of Wicked headed down to Hopkinton over the past weekend to get a taste of the first half of the Boston Marathon. Starting at the official starting line of the Marathon, the group finished just after Wellesley College. A good time was had by all and enjoyed a well deserved lunch at Blue Ribbon BBQ in Newton. Interested in running the next 13.1 miles? Look for an email from Tim Clarke very soon about the next road trip to finish the Boston Marathon…in two bites!
