Congratulations to everyone that participated in the 1st Annual North Shore Cancer RUN! There were 313 finishers and even though it was a tad on the warmer side there were some fantastic times. Results are on coolrunning.com and a photo album will be available soon.

Calling all Wicked Runners! The brand new North Shore Cancer RUN is just over a month away and it’s time to start thinking about getting some of the final few details in place for race day. One of those details would be making sure that we have enough volunteers at the start/finish areas and on on the course.

As you all are aware, Wicked is working with the North Shore Medical Center to do the first ever 5K Cancer RUN this year, on the 20 year anniversary of the NSMC Cancer walk. The RUN is going to have a start time of 11am on June 20th and we are still in need of  volunteers! We would love to have a strong Wicked Presence and are asking for your help. Depending on your assignment, you could need to be there as early 9am and stay as late as about 1:30pm.

Family and Friends of Wicked are welcome to volunteer as well!

The next planning meeting for the North Shore Cancer RUN is on Thursday, May 27th at 6pm at the Senior Center located at 5 Broad St in Salem.

On June 20, 2010 the North Shore Medical Center Cancer WALK will celebrate it’s 20th anniversary! As part of that celebration, Wicked has teamed up with NSMC to host the 1st Annual North Shore Cancer RUN 5K in Salem.

Registration for the Cancer RUN is now available. You can download and mail in a paper application on visit nsmcgiving.partners.org.

On April 21, 2010 at the Whole Foods Market in Swampscott, 5% of all purchases from that day will be donated to the 2010 Cancer WALK! Whether you are going to be doing the RUN or the WALK, please come and be part of this great event!

If you would like to be part of the planning of the Cancer RUN, the next race committee meeting will be held on April 22nd, 2010 at the Salem Senior Center at 6:30 pm. For more information about the meeting please email Tim Short.

The Wicked Running Club has teamed up with the North Shore Medical Center for the 1st Annual North Shore Cancer Run! The  5K race will take place on June 20, 2010 at 11 am, and will start and finish at the Salem Willows. If the date of the race sounds familiar to you, that’s because it’s also the same day as the NSMC Cancer Walk. This year the Cancer Walk will be celebrating it’s 2oth Anniversary and adding a 5K race to the event will make this day even more special!

More information about the race will be released soon. B&S Fitness Event Managment will be the official timing company for the race. Check out their website at bnsfitness.com.
