Wicked Run in Baltimore

Nobody asked, but here is my report:

Just a quick report on the Baltimore Running Festival last weekend. I will add a picture or two soon to this report.  It was a good event with 17000 runners participating in the 5k, half and full marathon, a sold out event. The expo was at Ravens stadium just next door to Camden Yards. The races finish in the parking lot at Raven’s Stadium.  The half and full marathon were very hilly, more hills then Boston Beth said, but the course covered many neighborhoods in Baltimore. Some very rough areas we went through, but it gives you a feel for the city and the neighborhoods which I enjoy.

Beth ran an amazing 4:13 plus which is a PR for her.  I ran the half marathon and it was very challenging. I ran a 1:56 plus which I had hoped to do a bit faster, but not unhappy about it. The race was sponsored by Under Armour and sells out each year and they gave away excellent technical shirts. Beer was available after the race and overall I would recommend the race if you don’t mind the challenge of hills.

My favorite half marathons are:

1. Eugene, Oregon- you must do this race in the running capital in the footsteps of legends sponsored by Nike, best clothing ever

2. Austin, TX- Great city and great course, lots to do there

3. Cleveland - good experience, went to Indians game and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

4. Las Vegas - You know the deal there, running in desert about 8 miles and last 5 in city.

Great post party at the Luxor, I enjoy Vegas!

5. Baltimore -  Camden yards and the Ravens stadium were great, but tough course.

6. Covered Bridges in Woodstock, VT - mostly downhill, as a matter of fact about 70% downhill and boring for me on back roads

7. Disney - The course spends about 11 miles time on roads and not enough in Parks

Great Marathon, Beth. You keep getting faster and faster. Doug, nothing shabby about your performance either. Thanks for sharing your experience. It’s always great to read these firsthand. Well done!
