Eastern 20 miler information! For those who will be running here is some info for the morning of the race.

The busses stop running at 8:45 to take us from the Hampton Casino to the start (where we will entertain ourselves until the 11 am start).  I think we should be there around 8:15 just in case we end up being late for some unforeseeable reason.  That said it takes 45 minutes to get to the Hampton Casino from Salem.  Let’s plan on pulling out at 7:30 sharp, so try and get to the Senior Center at 7:20.  I’ll have the GPS and a set of backup directions to and from the Casino in hand (with extra copies of course).   There is a first aid kit in my car and I’ll pack in some extra water and sunscreen

My guess is that we will return to Salem around 3:30 or a little before depending on when we leave Hampton.  This said, be prepared for a long day with your Wicked awesome friends:)

As I hit that point in my first marathon training experience where I question what I was thinking  . . . I realize that many of you have great learning experiences from running and training for marathons.  Perhaps other newbies like myself could also benefit from your wise words, or even funny tales!  So, send me your advice, learning experiences, funny stories, or encouraging words and I will pull them together anonymously into an article for Wicked Runners like myself–heck maybe even seasoned runners will benefit too.

Send your stories to Melissa at melissa.jaynes@gmail.com
