It seems like the line of members from the Wicked Running Club cheering on finishers at the April Fool’s Four Miler race on Saturday made a very good impression on one runner!
“On behalf of the many “slower” runners at the April Fools Race on Saturday, I thank you all. You must be proud to surround yourself with “class act” athletes would stay at the course, long after they had completed their own race, to cheer on those who needed the encouragement. I was having a tough time on Saturday, still a new runner, still learning HOW to run and still getting in shape. The cheering that your club provided as I rounded the last corner gave me the strength to finish strong. Thank you to the Wicked Running Club, I am forever grateful!” – Dave Randall, Danvers
Thanks Dave for the kind words! Go Wicked!
Wicked Runners took over the Hyannis Marathon and 1/2 Marathon with some awesome results!
The Lovley Ladies of Wicked seemed to be inspired by having Miles Fartlek along for the trip to Hyannis as the female masters (Dawn Cobak, Deb Touchette, Shari Hewson, Donna Greenberg, Kathey Moskal, Debbie Shahidi, Darla Johnson) placed 4th overall, just 13 minutes out of 3rd place. The female open team (Melissa Jaynes, Marie Duignan, Dawn Cobak, Elizabeth Sullivan, Deb Touchette, Shari Hewson, Donna Greenberg) cracked the top 10 with a 9th overall placement. The Mighty Men of Wicked (Dan Sullivan, Stephen Touchette, Anthony Gaglione, Bill Morse) ran to a 19th overall finish in a very competitive male open.
Meanwhile, snowing showing legend Patrick Smith of Dugeon Rock Racing/Wicked finished 32nd of 86 overall at the 6-mi Northeast Federation (New England) Snowshoe Championships. Fellow DRR/Wicked member and all around titan on the snowshoes, Bill Morse also finished 61st . According to Patrick, the race included 1,500ft of climbing (including a 900ft vert – 1.2 mi, and 500ft vert – 0.5mi continuous climbs) over the 6 miles. Tough race but beautiful. Great job guys!

These Wicked Runners look ready for a Half Marathon!
Wicked headed up north over the weekend to participate in the annual Half at the Hamptons. The race is hosted by Loco Running, a New Hampshire-based company that not only offers a line of running shoes but also race direction services.
Leading the way for Wicked was Dave Long who posted a 1:27:17.6 over the 13.1 miles course. Great job to Debbie Shahidi, Susan Goniprow and Jason Carraro and Darla Johnson for outstanding times as well!

Weather Conditions on the North Shore: We have blowing snow and trees swaying in the the wind. Now compare that to the warm weather and excellent racing conidtions that the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend just had and you could see how anyone might be just a little jealous of the Wicked Runners who ran in either the Disney Family Fun Run 5k, half marathon or Marathon!

Looks like T.R. Ramsdell's true passion in life is being an artist!
Below are the results from the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. If there are any Wicked Runners missing from the results please email Tim Short.
