Led by Captain TR Ramdell, the Wicked Wildcats beat the Wicked Whoopass Wiffleballers by a score of 8-7 in the 1st Annual Wicked Wiffleball Throwdown held at Salem Willows. The event which was organized by Nicole Short was up for grabs right until the final at bat for the Whoopass Wiffleballers. But in the end the pitching staff for the Wicked Wildcats held back some late game herorics and claimed victory.

While each inning had thrilling moments, it was the cook out after the game was finished that was pretty amazing. With hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta salad, soda and enough chips and cookies to sink a ship, the event was a complete success. Frank Lanzillo of the Whoopass Wifferballers was quoted on Facebook giving his thumbs up to the event organizer, ”Thanks so much Nicole. great idea, even better planning, even better execution.” Sounds like there will be calls for Nicole to organize the 2nd Annual Wicked Wiffle Ball Throwdown next year! Maybe we can get Jerry Remy and Announcer Boy (A.K.A Dan Orsillo) from NESN to call the game next year, how crazy would that be!?!?
Photos from the game can be viewed at facebook.com. The great shots were taken by Giff Campbell, thanks Giff!

Calling all Wicked Runners! The brand new North Shore Cancer RUN is just over a month away and it’s time to start thinking about getting some of the final few details in place for race day. One of those details would be making sure that we have enough volunteers at the start/finish areas and on on the course.
As you all are aware, Wicked is working with the North Shore Medical Center to do the first ever 5K Cancer RUN this year, on the 20 year anniversary of the NSMC Cancer walk. The RUN is going to have a start time of 11am on June 20th and we are still in need of volunteers! We would love to have a strong Wicked Presence and are asking for your help. Depending on your assignment, you could need to be there as early 9am and stay as late as about 1:30pm.
Family and Friends of Wicked are welcome to volunteer as well!
So, please feel free to contact Stephaine Hagyard, Tim Clarke and Alison Phelan and let us know that you can help out.
The next planning meeting for the North Shore Cancer RUN is on Thursday, May 27th at 6pm at the Senior Center located at 5 Broad St in Salem.
Also, check out this video at www.youtube.com of a radio commercial that is now playing on WALK/RUN sponsor: North Shore 104.9 FM.
Don’t forgot to follow updates about the Cancer RUN on Facebook & Twitter.
