Hi Shaun,

We have runners doing all kinds of distances on Saturdays and a lot of members will also prearrange longer runs if they are training for something in particular. In our weekly "Circle of Love" on Saturday mornings we give people the opportunity to mention things like that so you could always hook up with someone and arrange a run. Our runs are always self-supported. Hope to see you out there with us some Saturday!

Do you have groups that go longer on Saturdays; say 15-20 miles? Also, is your run self-supported or are there water stops?

I'm a beginner and so have been hesitant to join. Are there any beginner/novice runners in the group. I am shooting for my first 5K this spring and would love some encouragement/motivation.

USATF-NE Grand Prix Update

With one race in the books, we have not yet entered the standings in the USATF-NE Grand Prix but with 6 races left in the series a lot can still happen.

Pulled along by the excitement of so many runners racing for pride in their club I notched a slight 10 mile PR and I’m looking to do the same at next month’s New Bedford Half Marathon and I am hoping to be joined by some fellow Wicked runners. The New Bedford Half Marathon is the second race in the USATF-NE Grand Prix and registration is currently open. When you register, please remember to enter 266 as your USATF-NE Club ID number so that your score will count for Wicked.

Some good team scores at the New Bedford 1/2 Marathon will allow Wicked to enter the USATF-New England standings ahead of some clubs despite not scoring any points in Amherst this past weekends. The last place club in a series race scores 1 point and each club ahead scores one more point (such that in the Male Open Standings posted below the Boston Athletic Association scored 20 points and the North Shore Striders scored 1 point). Pending review of runner USATF eligibility the series standings are currently:
