WICKED 5 TAKES ON SNOWSHOE NATIONALS

Wicked’s sister race team, Dungeon Rock Racing (DRR) is sending 5 WRC/DRR runners to the 2009 U.S. Snowshoe Association (USSSA) National race to be held on March 8th at Oregon’s fabled Mount Hood.  Led by Admiral (recent promotion) Bill Morse on his 4th trip to Nationals, the Wicked-DRR crew is looking strong, looking tough, looking race ready.  Bill is joined by Captains Dan Cooper, Jay Curry and Patrick Smith, and representing the entire DRR crew of the ship, Steph Cooper.   All qualified for Nationals by having a stellar performance at the regional qualifier at Sidehiller (C. Sandwich, NH) back on Feb 7th.  In the inaugural year for DRR, the fab 5 lead DRR to a second place finish at this year’s Granite State Snowshoe Series (2nd of 28!).  Many other Wicked Runners gave a big helping stride at the GSSS races this past year.  Thanks everyone!

The fab 5 will be taking on some of the best trailrunners/snowshoers in the country.  DRR expects to get the toughest competition from the grizzled veterans of Minnesota, Colorado, and the host state Oregon.  The team has been on a strict diet that has limited the number of jelly sticks Patrick can eat and number of Hostess Snow Balls Dan can eat.  As Dan notes, “Its shear sugar torture!”.

Look for daily DRR updates on the DRR blog by Dan “media-man” Cooper.

This will be a “Wicked” good time
