Miles Over the Moon

On Friday, July 11, 2014 at 8:00PM, come joins us for the 4th annual Miles over the Moon Race which starts by and ends at the Salem Common. We are excited about being Race #4 in the New England Running Company Race Series and expect an even larger turnout this year! This fast and flat 4-mile race course runs through the historic streets of Salem, down Federal and Chestnut Streets, into the downtown area and just beyond the outskirts of the Salem Willows. North Shore Timing Company will provide Chip Timing! Mark your calendars for Friday, July 11, 2014 and come join us for this “over the moon” race experience. You’ll be glad you did!

RACE DATE: Friday, July 11, 2014 at 8 pm.

LOCATION: Registration is at the Salem Common, 6:30pm-7:30pm.  Race start is on Pleasant Street.

PARKING: Public parking lots available as well as on street parking

ENTRY FEE: $22 for entries received by 6/30, $25 thereafter

REGISTRATION: Available online at or click here to download the mail in application

COURSE: Very flat and fast, wheel measured 4 miles

AWARDS: Trophies for overall 1st place male and female winners. Age group medals for top 3 male and females: under 19, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.  Results to be posted on

POST-RACE: Post race food and water provided. After-party at the Knights of Columbus by the Salem Common on Washington Square East, Salem MA

PACKET PICK-UP: Wednesday, 7/9 from 4-7pm and Thursday, 7/10 from 10am-7pm at New England Running Company. 

RACE SHIRTS: Available to the first 400 applicants (sizes cannot be guaranteed)

  • Thanks for a great night last night. Weather cooperated very well, and all of the items that you had control of came together very well also. Route was fast and the volunteers and local PD were great. Great looking shirts as well. Looking forward to next year.

    • Hello everyone! I’m a distance runner and teacher in Portland, OR visiting your parts for a admin training in Boston and thought I’d grab a buddy and head your way for a wicked Friday the 13th! This will be our first time to Salem, and we need suggestions on lodgings…with showers:-)
