5th Annual Miles Over the Moon 4 mile Road Race – A “Midsummer Night” Run

On Friday, July 24, 2015 at 8:00PM, come joins us for the 5th annual Miles over the Moon Race which starts by and ends at the Salem Common. We are excited about being Race #4 in the 2015  New England Running Company Race Series and expect an even larger turnout this year! This fast and flat 4-mile race course runs through the historic streets of Salem, down Federal and Chestnut Streets, into the downtown area and just beyond the outskirts of the Salem Willows. North Shore Timing Company will provide Chip Timing! Mark your calendars for Friday, July 24, 2015 and come join us for this “over the moon” race experience. You’ll be glad you did! Portion of proceeds to fund local high school track programs.

Date & Time: Friday, July 24, 2015 at 8:00 pm – rain or shine.

Location: Race to start on Pleasant Street. Registration @ Knights of Columbus by the Salem Common, 6:30pm-7:30pm.

Parking: Public parking lots available as well as on street parking.

Course: Very fast and flat 4 miles.

Entry Fee: $25 pre-registration /$30 on race day.

Packet Pick Up: New England Running Company, 43 Enon Street, Beverly, MA Wed, July 22, 2015 from 4-7pm and Thurs, July 23, 2015 from 10-8pm.

Awards: Trophies for overall winners Male and Female. Age group medals for top 3 male and females: Youth (19 and under), 20-29, 30-39, Masters (40-49), Senior Masters (50-59), (60-69), (70 and over).  Results posted on Coolrunning.com

T-Shirts: A fabulous race needs a fabulous shirt! The first 400 registered runners will receive a short sleeve shirt from Brooks. (sizes cannot be guaranteed)

Post-Race: Post race food, beverages and cash bar at the Knights of Columbus, 94 Washington Sq. East.  Awards and raffles will follow.

New this year: We’re celebrating the 5th Anniversary of Miles Over the Moon with a couple of cool new additions to the race. This year all runners will receive a very awesome glow in the dark finisher’s medal that will be a great collector’s item. North Shore Timing Company will be providing text message results. When a runner finishes they will receive a text message which includes place and time in the race.

Runners Safety: Because this is a night time race we encourage all runners to wear reflective clothing. The course is not closed off to traffic and we want everyone to have a fun and safe time. Please be sure to be cognizant of your surroundings including your fellow runners.

With low humidity and great music from Mix 104.1 energizing runners from all over the North Shore and beyond, the Wicked Running Club hosted a very successful Miles Over the Moon.

Many thanks to all 501 runners who finished the race last night. This is a new record for Miles Over the Moon which was the 4th race in the New England Running Company 2014 Road Race Series.

Another big thanks to the volunteers and MOTM Race Committee for making this a great race!

  • Thanks for a great night last night. Weather cooperated very well, and all of the items that you had control of came together very well also. Route was fast and the volunteers and local PD were great. Great looking shirts as well. Looking forward to next year.

    • Hello everyone! I’m a distance runner and teacher in Portland, OR visiting your parts for a admin training in Boston and thought I’d grab a buddy and head your way for a wicked Friday the 13th! This will be our first time to Salem, and we need suggestions on lodgings…with showers:-)
